North Carolina vs. Wagner Matchup
North Carolina finished the regular season first in the ACC with a 17-3 record and are 27-7 overall. However, they came up short in the conference tournament final against the NC State Wolfpack. They went home with an 84-76 defeat after shooting just 37.3% from the field.

The 18-16 Bison finished third in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with a 9-5 record. They rallied to win the conference tournament after beating Delaware State 70-67 in the final, but fell short against Wagner.
Wagner has a 16-15 overall record and finished sixth in the Northeast Conference standings with a 7-9 mark. They were also underdogs to win the conference tournament. However, a strong performance gave them a 54-47 victory against Merrimack. They followed that with a 71-68 win against Howard Tuesday night.
