The college football bowl season starts this Saturday, December 16, with seven games on the slate. The first game involving two FBS teams is the Myrtle Beach Bowl between the Georgia Southern Eagles and the Ohio Bobcats. The Eagles are 6-6 on the season but are entering on a four-game losing streak, finishing with a 3-5 mark in Sun Belt play. The Ohio Bobcats went 9-3 overall and 6-2 in the MAC.
Although the resume for Ohio may look a little better on paper, the Bobcats will likely be without quarterback Kurtis Rourke, who has entered the transfer portal, and backup C.J. Harris, who is also out for the season with an injury. Third-string quarterback Parker Navarro is likely to lead the Bobcats into battle. Due to some other key Ohio players opting out of this contests, the Eagles are -3.5 favorites.
