In a stunning turn of events, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has been suspended by the Big Ten, for remainder of the regular season. This means he will not be on the sidelines against Penn State. The ruling is apart of the ongoing sign-stealing scandal. The suspension applies only to games and not practices, and Michigan is expected to appeal the decision in an attempt to get Harbaugh reinstated until the NCAA investigation is complete.
This is the second time Harbaugh has been suspended this season
Harbaugh previously served a three-game ban for unrelated NCAA infractions. The sign-stealing scandal has rocked the college football world, and Harbaugh’s suspension is a major blow to the Wolverines, who are currently ranked No. 2 in the country.
It remains to be seen whether Michigan’s appeal will be successful, but Harbaugh’s absence will undoubtedly make the Wolverines’ road to the College Football Playoff more difficult.
