The sports week is well underway and there is plenty of exciting action available for Tuesday, March 19th. The NBA and NHL seasons are steaming toward an exciting finish with plenty of playoff spots up for grabs over the last few weeks of the season. The NCAA Tournament kicks off tonight in Dayton, Ohio as two First Four games will be played to determine the 16th seed in the West Region and the 10th seed in the Midwest Region. The NIT Tournament also kicks off on Tuesday night with nine games on tap including a regional matchup as the Boston College Eagles make the short trip to Rhode Island to take on the Providence Friars.
The Eagles and Friars are long-time rivals with both teams charter members of the Big East in the 1980s. Boston College, out of the ACC, comes in with a record of 19-15 and 6-6 on the road. The Friars, out of the Big East, are 21-13 on the season including a record of 14-4 at home. Game time is scheduled for 7:10 PM EST.
