The brackets have been set for the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Tournament. The final teams will begin to meet Thursday at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.
Indiana State is the #1 seed and the favorite to win this season’s tournament. They come in with a solid 17-3 conference record to lead Drake by one game in the standings. Leading the Sycamores is the conference’s top player, Robbie Avila. He heads the team with 17.6 points per game.
12 teams will participate in the single-elimination tournament, better known as “Arch Madness.” A few of them have hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. If Indiana State or Drake doesn’t win the tournament and get an automatic bid, either could still be in the running for an at-large selection. This means the MVC could send more than one team to the Big Dance.

Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Schedule
The Missouri Valley Conference Tournament is a single-elimination tournament, with the winner of each game moving on to the next round. The first round starts with four games on Thursday, as #8 Murray State (12-19) takes on #9 Missouri State (16-15) at noon local time.
The second game matches #5 Belmont (19-12) against #12 Valparaiso (7-24). Next up will be #7 Illinois State (15-16) vs. #10 Evansville (15-16). The final game features #6 Southern Illinois (19-12) against #11 Illinois-Chicago (11-20).
Friday’s quarterfinals tip off at noon. For that game, #1 Indiana State (26-5) takes on the Murray State/Missouri State winner. In addition, #4 Northern Iowa (18-13) will play the winner between Belmont and Valparaiso.
Later in the evening, #2 Drake (25-6) will face the Illinois State vs. Evansville winner. In the final matchup of the day, #3 Bradley (21-10) will play the winner between Southern Illinois/ Illinois-Chicago. That game’s tip-off will be at 9:30 PM.
The semifinals will then get underway on Saturday. The first game will tip off at 2:30 PM, followed by the MVC Tournament championship game. The battle for the title will be nationally televised on Sunday at 2 PM.
