The launch of North Carolina online sports betting is only four days away. One of the state’s major operators, DraftKings NC, has announced an event to commemorate the industry opening its virtual doors.
DraftKings NC will host its event at the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Monday, March 11 (the designated launch day). Among the special guests will be former Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen, who will place the ceremonial first bet once North Carolina online sports betting goes live.

NASCAR, which is headquartered in the Tar Heel State, is the designated partner of DraftKings NC. The two entered into an agreement in late-2023, one required by all operators prior to going live on launch day.
The event was announced in a press release from the operator’s Boston headquarters. Matt Kalish, the President of DraftKings North America, said:

In addition to launching ahead of NCAA basketball tournament betting, NC online sportsbooks will be live in time for the ACC tournament. That tips off Tuesday and features popular programs such as Duke, North Carolina, and NC State.
