College basketball fans are excited as the postseason tournaments get underway this week across the country. Summit League Tournament Schedule
All nine conference teams will participate in the 2024 Summit League championship. The winner will likely gain an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament beginning on March 19.
- The play-in game is the first on the schedule for this Friday. It will feature #8 Oral Roberts (11-18) against #9 South Dakota (12-19) after the teams split their season series.
- The first quarterfinal matchup on Saturday will pit #1 South Dakota State (19-12) against the play-in game winner. The Jackrabbits have won five straight and seven of their last eight games. They led the Summit League with a 12-4 conference record in the regular season.
- #2 seed Kansas City (16-15) goes up against #7 Denver (15-16) in Saturday’s second quarterfinal game. Kansas City won both regular season matchups and looks to extend their winning streak to seven games with a victory.
- #4 St. Thomas-Minnesota (19-12) will play #5 North Dakota State (15-16) on Sunday in the third quarterfinal. The teams split their two regular-season conference matchups, with North Dakota State winning 64-50 in their last meeting.
- The quarterfinals will wrap up Sunday evening as #3 North Dakota (18-13) battles against #6 Omaha (14-17). Omaha won the first season clash by 18 points. However, North Dakota took a convincing 99-78 win in the second matchup.
The Summit League tournament semifinals will be on Monday, March 11. It will then be followed by the championship game on Tuesday at 8:30 PM local time. If #4 St. Thomas wins it all, the highest-seeded team in the postseason, South Dakota State, will receive the automatic bid to the NCAA Basketball Tournament.
